Community Corner

Viewfinder: Bunten Road Park

Diversity of outdoor and indoor activities await your arrival.

A jewel in the City of Duluth Parks and Recreation Department facilities, you’ll find a mixture of passive and active recreational opportunities at Bunten Park, including baseball, soccer, tennis, playgrounds, paved and natural walking trails, as well as a recreation center.

Begin your park experience from the entrance at 3180 Bunten Road and drive to your preferred parking lot placed in close proximity to the venue of your choice. Very convenient.

The department's headquarters are located at this rustic park’s community center, which sponsors activities for all ages from young children to senior citizens.

Winding trails include a 10-foot wide, 1.08-mile paved asphalt trail which offers vistas from the active fields to the deep woods. Wander off on one of the smaller, unpaved paths and enjoy meandering through portions of the wooded area that make you feel like you’ve entered Robin Hood's domain.

Park designers placed the baseball diamonds in adjacent pairs, while the soccer fields are divided between the northwestern corner and the community center. The 36,000-square-foot center houses an indoor gym, office space, meeting and aerobics rooms. Four tennis courts are located in the northern end of the park.
