Theft of Auto Component Reported in Duluth

A Patch reader offers details, and advice for others.

A Patch reader in the Duluth area has reported a theft of her automobile's catalytic converter outside her residence.

Posting on the Duluth Patch Speak Out board, the reader wrote in part:

"When I woke up to go to work early in the morning I noticed a loud noise when I started my car but attempted to drive to work, once I got down Peachtree Industrial Blvd the noise got so bad I stopped at the nearest gas station on abbots bridge rd and called my roadside assistances. After getting my car towed to the Gwinnett Honda Dealership, the service center advised me the catalytic converter had been stolen off my car. I was completely shocked, and angered by this violation."

This development comes about the time that Duluth Police are pressing charges against three men in connection with entering auto cases in the Duluth area. Police say a theft ring could be at work.
