What stresses you out, Georgia? Tell us in the comments below.
Georgia, you’ve got stress.
But apparently not as much as Florida, according to one survey.
Real estate blog Movoto.com, which compiles lists like the most boring, safest and exciting places in America, says the Peach State is second on the list of 10 Most Stressed Out States in America (well, the lower 48, actually).
The top 10 in order: Florida, Georgia, New Jersey, California, Nevada, Illinois, New York, Maryland, North Carolina, and Arizona.
The survey, which is based on data from the U.S. Census’ American Community Survey for 2008-2012, considered unemployment rates, length of commutes, weekly work hours, population density, percentage of income spent on housing and percentage of the population without health insurance.
Georgia received worst-10 rankings in work hours, no insurance, length of commute and unemployment (although the 10.7 percent jobless rate Movoto used was nearly 4 points worse than the current rate of 7 percent).
So, what’s the least stressed state in the lower 48?
North Dakota. Apparently, average winter temperature was not a factor.
