Event in Duluth To Feature Women in Government

Duluth and Georgia elected officials are scheduled to participate.

An event scheduled for December in the Duluth area will focus on women in government, especially at the local and state levels.

Running In Heels on the Hill is the title of an event set for Friday, Dec. 13, and is organized by the Gwinnett Leadership Organization for Women, which is a Gwinnett Chamber group.

Duluth Mayor Nancy Harris and Georgia state Sen. Renee Unterman (District 45) are among the panelists. The event is set for TPC Sugarloaf in Duluth, 7:45 a.m. Networking will begin at 7:15 a.m.

According to the announcement:

Research shows that women make government more transparent, inclusive and accessible. Women bring different priorities and experiences to public life, including perspectives that have been largely absent in public policymaking. Women change the way government works, and their voices are needed in legislative chambers around the country.

TPC Sugarloaf is located at 2595 Sugarloaf Club Drive. For more about the event, and to register, click here.
