Elderly Dog Needs Rescue After Being Dumped

An ailing German Shepherd is in urgent need of a home for his remaining days.

A local animal shelter is holding an elderly German Shepherd after he was dumped by his owners, but his time there is running out.

"Poor fellow just needs a soft bed and a loving home to live out his remaining time," said a message from Gwinnett Animal Control, adding that the dog's "stray hold" is running out.

A veterinarian who examined the dog said he suffers from dysplasia, bone spurs and lumbar spondylosis, and that he is now on pain medicine.

The dog is described as friendly and quite large. His animal ID number is 27699.

Poor thing. Why are so people so cruel? I wonder if he would get along with my two year old boxer pit? I will call and ask. To the people that dropped him and to anyone else who abandons animals...you are horrible, mean people.
