Candidates Nominated for Public Arts Commission

Eight area residents and one City Council member are in line for the new panel.

Several people have been nominated to be on the first Duluth Public Arts Commission.

Four art professionals and four other city or area residents were selected for appointment Monday (Sept. 23) at a City Council workshop. Their official appointments to the new commission will be on the agenda for the City Council meeting in October.

Nominated to the panel were:

  • ART PROFESSIONALS: Michael Robbins, G.G. Gatz, Vanessa Boggs, Cindy Brown;
  • CITY RESIDENT: Randy Wilbur;
  • NON-CITY RESIDENTS: Katrina Stone, Ashley Lynch, Laura Brown.
Also, City Council member Marsha Anderson Bomar has agreed to be on the panel.

There also will be alternates. One city resident (vacant), and one non-city resident (Aaron Brody).

The commission members were selected via a process that is outlined on the city website.
