BBB Issues Warning on 5k Foam Fest

BBB Serving Metro Atlanta, Athens & Northeast Georgia issues warning on 5k Foam Fest.

5k Foam Fest is promoting an event at Atlanta Motor Speedway scheduled for September 20, 2014 to be held at Atlanta Motor Speedway.  The problem is, according to their website, 5k Foam Fest is cancelling all future events due to limited resources.

Specifically they state: “Dear 5k Foam Fest Friends, Our organization has spent years and an incredible amount of money perfecting this great event for the runners we admire so much. However, due to limited resources we are sad to announce that the 5k Foam Fest is cancelling all future events and will no longer be in business as of July 17th, 2014. After tireless efforts to find a way to help us finish out our season; we simply can’t continue to move forward. However, the 5k Foam Fest Canada is an entirely different organization and will continue to operate business as usual.”

BBB cannot determine at this time if the company has actually declared bankruptcy and if consumers will receive any refunds.

Funds collected were to benefit a charity called A Child’s Hope Foundation.  One BBB has contacted the charity regarding this matter but as to date, has not yet heard back.

The company concludes on their website “While the 5k Foam Fest no longer has staff or funds and will not be able to respond to individual emails or phone calls, we will provide additional email updates as information becomes available. As we face bankruptcy we ask for your forgiveness and patience.”  They also allege that a company called Red Frog Events will give you a free registration to any of their 2014 or 2015 running events. This has not been confirmed by BBB.

BBB has no further information at this time.
