Lawrenceville Police have identified the two people killed in a crash early Monday morning.

In an email, LPD Cpt. Greg Vaughn said 54 year old Larry Liles of Lawrenceville and 55 year old Mahvash Yazdanpanah of Duluth died when the two cars crashed on Old Norcross Road just before 5am.

Yazdanpanah was driving eastbound in front of Benefield Elementary School when she reportedly lost control of her Volvo, crossed the median near Hillandale Drive and slammed head-on into Liles' Hyundai. 

Both drivers were alone in their cars and died at the scene. 

Vaughn says it is too early to tell if speed or alcohol played a factor in the deadly crash.
