Olympics 2012: U.S. Leading Overall Medal Count

Attention, Duluth fans of the 2012 Olympics: The United States leads the overall medal count as the sporting spectacle enters its final weekend.
Also, the U.S. has a narrow lead in the gold-medal total. China is second in both categories. The London Games end Sunday, Aug. 12.
The top medal winner is U.S. swimmer Michael Phelps, with four golds and six overall. Phelps now possesses 22 medals for his career. This includes 18 golds.
Among the other U.S. medal winners are swimmer Missy Franklin, 17, with four golds and tennis star Serena Williams, with two golds.
