Get Out: Weekend Planner

Duluth Music Festival, Famous DJ at Wild Bill's, Elton John tribute band at Thrasher Park and more.

One of the most important things you can have as a human being is a choice. It's what makes you, you. It's what makes your life what you make it. Make your life what you want it to be by doing one of these things this weekend. Or do you own thing. Either way, make some choices and live!

DJ Cobra at Wild Bill's - You like to dance? The man who plays for celebs, DJ Cobra, will be making his first visit to Atlanta with a party at Wild Bill's Thursday night! For more information, visit the website.

Funny Fridays at Aurora Theatre - This Friday night, Atlanta stand-up comedy legend Jerry Farber will be joined by Johnny Porrazzo for two stand-up shows at Aurora. Shows are at 7:15 and 9:15 p.m. The man is a little older than his headshot lets on but don't be fooled, this dude is funny.

Duluth Music Festival - Country music artist Trent Tomlinson headlines this year's edition of the Duluth Music Festival. Trent will be joined by the Gwinnett Music School of Rock, 116th Army Band, Metro Jazz Club, Full Circle, Harms Way and more. An open mic stage, vendors, food, drinks and more will available.

Improv Thunderdome Featuring Improv Monster - Another Atlanta comedy legend will be in Gwinnett this weekend. Instead of stand-up, Monster is an improv group. They'll be taking suggestions and making laughs in Johns Creek Friday night. For more info, visit the website

Kidgits Fun Factory Tour - Mall of Georgia - The kids are in for a treat Sunday as the Fun Factory Tour hits the Mall of Georgia. With interactive games, giveaways, prizes and more, all kids from ages 3-12 will have a blast.

Trivia Night - Iron Horse Tavern - The Horse continues it's weekly tradition of Thursday night trivia. Even though the regular trivia announcer Erin has moved on to greener pastures, (Decatur, not Heaven) the new guy is pretty good, too. Come out and see if you can beat the Lucky Pachyderms or that ridiculous group that sits at the bar.

Norcross Concert Series - Almost Elton John and the Rocket Band - The summer is coming to an end quickly, so if you haven't been to Thrasher Park to see a concert, you'd better head over Friday and see the Elton John tribute band. Look for the stand out song "Rocket Man," a personal choice, of course.

Annual Pinckneyville Craft Market - Local artisans will be playing their creations at Pinckneyville Community Center Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jewelry, pottery, paintings and more will be on display for you to buy or just fawn over. Your choice.
