We're all watching our family budgets these days. Whether shopping with coupons or looking for two-for-one deals, we're taking advantage of all sorts of offers and savings that help us stretch our dollars.

This column will be dedicated to giving you five great local deals each week that will help your family's bottom line, and since we do the scouting for you, you can save time as well as money.

BONUS: 

Deal: Several Blockbuster stores in Gwinnett County are closing this month, and although shelves are emptying there are still bargains to be had. Stores at 3750 Howell Ferry Road, 6575 Sugarloaf Parkway and 3780 Old Norcross Road in Duluth were closing April 10. The Blockbuster at 3640 Club Drive at Pleasant Hill Road in Lawrenceville is closing the same day. As closing day neared, previously viewed DVDs were on sale for $2.99, and new DVDs were deeply discounted. A selection of Blu-ray discs also were on sale.
