Holy blockbuster, Batman!

When the "Dark Knight Rises" premieres Thursday, July 19, Duluth area theaters will be part of the frenzy.

The third and reported final installment of director Christopher Nolan's "Batman" series starring Christian Bale as the Caped Crusader is expected to rake in more than $150 million in its opening weekend alone.

In other words, if you are set on seeing the movie this weekend, you might want to go ahead and buy your tickets now. In fact, as of July 1, 100,000 tickets were already presold.

Can't wait 'til midnight Thursday? Some theater chains are capitalizing on the hype with early evening Batman marathons.
