The Gwinnett Braves announced Sunday that pitcher Todd Redmond's contract has been purchased by the Atlanta Braves, and that he will join the major league roster.
Redmond, 27, has gone 6-4 with a 3.20 ERA for Gwinnett this season. The 2012 season was Redmond’s fourth-straight as a member of the G-Braves, according to a Gwinnett Braves news release.
The Gwinnett Braves will have a Father's Day game against Columbus at Coolray Field on Sunday afternoon, and they'll hope for better results than they had Saturday.
Columbus DH Russ Canzier went 2-for-4 with a home run Saturday to lead his team to a 6-1 victory over the G-Braves. Gwinnett's Jose Constanza went 2-for-4 with a home run.
Gwinnett's Julio Teheran was the losing pitcher. Teheran (5-3) allowed two earned runs on six hits over 4.0 innings.
Sunday's game starts at 2:05 p.m. As usual, there will be pregame catch on the field, and post-game base run for kids 12-under.
