Chattahooche Dog Park Named 'Best of Gwinnett'
Plaque recognizing the park presented at January Duluth City Council meeting.
Duluth Parks and Recreation Director Kathy Marelle presented a “Best of Gwinnett” plaque to Mayor Nancy Harris at the Jan. 14 Duluth City Council meeting for the Chattapoochee Dog Park. The dog park was recognized in the 2012 “Best of Gwinnett” as the best dog park in the county.
"Shiner," the mayor of Chattapoochee Dog Park, also accepted the award.
The dog park won in the Wildcard Division on the basis of write-in votes. The Chattapoochee Dog Park, located at the entrance to Rogers Bridge Park, was built by the city with SPLOST funds. It opened in 2012.
The three-acre park includes fenced exercise areas for large and small dogs, interactive play fountains, dog agility equipment, and benches.
