'America's Most Wanted' to Air Gwinnett Cold Case
The unsolved Lawrenceville murder of Kay Wenal from 2008 will be featured on the Lifetime channel show Friday evening.
Who killed Eva "Kay" Wenal? Gwinnett County Police detectives have been trying to figure that out since she was murdered in 2008. And now they hope to get leads from a national television show.
"America's Most Wanted" will feature this cold case on their show Friday, Aug. 24, at 9 p.m. on Lifetime. It will air during an episode called “The Bold, The Bad and The Brazen.”
Wenal was murdered at her home on Sugar Lake Court in unincorporated Lawrenceville on May 1, 2008. Her husband Harold “Hal” Wenal found his wife's body. Mr. Wenal was ruled out as a suspect before he died of natural causes in 2010.
Earlier this year, Gwinnett Police detectives revealed a note cut out of magazine letters claiming responsibility for the woman's murder.
The suspect is described as a white male, 5'8" to 5'10" with brown/graying hair.
Duluth Patch readers or anyone with information about the case can anonymously call "America's Most Wanted" at 1-800-CRIME-TV. They may also directly call Gwinnett Police detectives at 770-513-5300.
