Tail Waggin' Therapy Dogs Encourage Children to Read

What has four legs, a happy waggin’ tail and loves to listen to stories read by kids? Answer: Tail Waggin’ Therapy Dogs.

And you can meet them at the Strickland House, Saturday, March 2, from noon to 3 p.m. Join us at the Tail Waggin’ Therapy Dogs Reading Program for Kids Ages 4 to 8. The event is free, but donations for the Historic Strickland House are appreciated.

This event encourages kids to read. While children read to the certified therapy ridogs, parents are welcome to tour the museum. Certified dog handlers will be onsite at all times.

Light refreshments will be served. Books will be supplied by the Duluth Historical Society and Chattapoochee PetFest 2013. Children can also bring their favorite books to read.

The Strickland House, home of the original Gwinnett Humane Society, is maintained by the Duluth Historical Society at 2956 Buford Hwy. in Duluth, GA.
