The Gwinnett Cooperative Extension will offer the following classes during the month of August:

• Cooking for Cancer Prevention

The class will take place on Aug. 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 pm.. at the Gwinnett Village located at 5855 Jimmy Carter Boulevard in Norcross. The class is free but registration is required. Learn to cook meals and snacks that may help lower the risk of developing cancer. Register by calling 770-449-6516.

• Fall Lawn Care

Register by Friday, Aug. 17 to attend a free class on fall lawn care. Class date is Aug. 21 and will be held at the Gwinnett County Cooperative Extension Office in Lawrenceville. Contact 678-377-4010 or email Timothy Daly for more information.

• Fall Vegetable Gardening

This is a free class held at the Shoal Creek Filter Plant in Buford on Aug. 22. Attendees will learn to start a fall vegetable garden and what type of veggies you can grow in the fall. Pre-register by Monday, Aug. 20 by contacting 678-377-4010 or emailing Timothy Daly.
