Kathy Schrader endorsed by Gwinnett Bar Association Past President Sherriann Hicks
Sherriann Hicks, of the Lawrenceville-based Hicks Law Group, and Past President from 2003-2004 of the Gwinnett County Bar Association is supporting Kathy Schrader for Gwinnett County Superior Court Judge. The election for an open seat on the Superior Court bench will be held July 31st, and the judicial election will appear on all ballots. Ms. Hicks said:
"I know Kathy Schrader not only as a fellow lawyer and Past President of the Gwinnett County Bar Association, but as a tireless advocate for families, for children, and for victims of domestic violence. We need a Gwinnett County Superior Court Judge who understands the problems faced by families, who puts the welfare of children first, and who has worked to raise awareness and ensure that domestic violence agencies are equipped to serve their clients."
Kathy has worked tirelessly to protect and represent victims before the courts and with the Partnership Against Domestic Violence and the Governor's Office for Children and Families to promote funding, protect families and raise awareness.
Kathy Schrader served as President of the Gwinnett County Bar Association from 1995-1996. She has been an attorney in private practice in Gwinnett County for 25 years and currently serves as a Municipal Court Judge for the Cities of Duluth and Sugar Hill.
Kathy Schrader was appointed by Governor Sonny Perdue and Governor Nathan Deal to the the Governor’s Office for Children and Families for 3 consecutive terms before resigning to run for Superior Court Judge.
She is certified as a mediator and arbitrator by the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution and has twice been recommended as Qualified by the Judicial Nominating Commission of Georgia for the Gwinnett Superior Court.
She has been married to Richard Schrader for twenty-five years. The Schraders are active members of Cross Pointe, the Church at Gwinnett Center, where Kathy serves in the Women’s Ministry and missions, and has served as a youth leader, mentor for young women and small group leader for marriage enrichment.
