'Frankenstein Slept Here' and 'At Half Time' at New Dawn

The New Dawn Theater hosts the More or Less Players from the Roswell Adult Recreation Center at 2 p.m. Nov. 4 as they present the plays ‘Frankenstein Slept Here’ and ‘At Half Time.’

The More or Less Players, which began in 2007, offers acting opportunities to performers in their 60s, 70s and 80s who enjoy the challenge of working as a team to entertain others. Recognized by the Georgia Parks and Recreation Association for innovative programming for seniors, the More or Less Players reflects one of the fastest growing forms of the performing arts – senior theater.

The group selects plays which are fun for both the performers and the audience.

‘Frankenstein Slept Here’ features appearances by Baroness Frankenstein, her assistant Igor, Medusa, Vampira, the Mummy, the Invisible Man, the Phantom Bride, a descendant of Dr. Jekyll/Mr.Hyde, the Werewolf and, of course, Frankenstein. These creatures of the night must pretend to be servants at a castle when the owner comes for a surprise inspection. The audience will witness the incredible fight between the Werewolf and the Invisible Man and the ‘shocking’ accident which activates Frankenstein.

‘At Half Time’ depicts a basketball team of ladies over 60 responding to their coach’s effort to motivate them to come from many points behind to beat a team of nuns who are playing in long skirts.

Tickets are $10. Call 678-887-5015 for reservations. For more information check out the theater’s website at  www.newdawntheatercompany.com.
